NOTES

(by DuoItalian)

The English “car” or “automobile” is referenced in Italian as auto (short for the Italian cognate automobile) or macchina (literally “machine” and used to describe various other objects).

Whereas a “truck” is most commonly referred to as camion or autocarro (not covered in this lesson, but good to know.)

The Italian word ruota (wheel) learned in this lesson is similarly interchangeable at times with pneumatico or gomma (tire, rubber).
